Welcome to St Agnes’ Eccleston, despite the lockdown weekly newsletters are available here to allow parishioners to keep up to date with the church. The readings and a reflection are also available here.

This week we also begin the season of Lent. We have the readings for Ash Wednesday here as well as a reflection here. Although we are unable to be together at present, we can continue to observe the seasons of the church in our own homes and lives.

Although we are unable to gather together at present, please do continue to pray together on a Sunday, including prayer for our church community and the needs of those in the wider community.

The fundraising committee are doing a sponsored walk, details of which can be found on the newsletter. Any funds raised with be split between the CAFOD appeal and church funds. Would you be able to help either by offering sponsorship to keep those involved going, or by taking up the challenge yourself. We are aiming to walk 10,000 steps per day throughout lent. If you would like to help out please contact Sue Green on suegr2000@yahoo.co.uk or 07799826361.

This year should have been the Synod meeting for which we have been preparing. This has been postponed but we do have some documents to read and contemplate which can be found here, along with further links information provided by the archdiocese.

As has been mentioned often on recent bulletins the church has lost out financially over the period of Covid -19, income has reduced considerably and we are all being asked to ensure we keep up with our weekly offerings. If you are not currently able to attend church, weekly offerings can be given via standing order, the form is available for download here and can be dropped in at the presbytery. If any parishioners require a hard copy of the form, please contact Fr. Michael and delivery will be arranged.

Live streaming of mass remains availabe from some of local churches – 9.30 Sunday Mass from St Teresas Penwortham here and 9.30, 11.00 and 18.30 Sunday Mass from St Gregorys Chorley here. Daily mass is also available from St Gregorys. A recording of mass to be watched at any time is available here.
