Popes call to prayer.
The pope has issued a call to prayer for 27/03/2020 at 17.00. The pope will preside over eucharistic adoration and a time of prayer – a transcript of the homily can be found here.
CHURCH CLOSED
Following this evenings announcement that we are not to leave our houses except for absolute essentials church will be closed for the foreseeable future.
Online Mass
So? What is it like to watch mass online? Is it not a bit wierd – members of the parish who used the online facilities today said:
“He preached really well.”
“I’m really glad I did it and felt part of it. The priest said the responses but I found myself saying the responses too. I felt sad too as there was no one in the church sharing the mass but it also made it more personal in a way”
Church Open
Church will be open for private prayer each Saturday and Sunday between 9.00 and 17.00. Please do bear in mind that we have all been asked to keep “socially distancing” (being 2 meters apart at all times).
Breaking News
No masses until further notice. Due to the Covid-19 outbreak we have been advised to suspend all public acts of worship for the foreseeable future. This decision has been taken by the Bishop’s Conference of England and Wales and will be reviewed regularly. Check back to this website for regular updates.
